Your Prayer – Psalm 86:11

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Psalm 86:11
Teach me your way, O YHWH, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.

Well, we’d like to think that this is everyones prayer, and I suppose it could be. However, how do we live out that prayer?

You see, we can say a lot things, but if our actions don’t line up with our words, what’s the use? Think of it this way, this psalm says “Teach me your way, O YHWH, and I will walk in your truth;” But what if He teaches you something that requires change in your life? What if He teaches you something that requires you to give something up in your life? Will you hold true to that prayer that says “…and I will walk in your truth;”?

Interestingly enough, the psalmist here thought that through already. That’s why he prayed “…give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.” An undivided heart. A heart that is sold out no matter what. No matter what change or sacrifice that he is presented with by YHWH, he will have no second thought, no hesitation, he will follow through with what he was taught. So, is this your prayer?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
