Tomorrow – Proverbs 27:1

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Proverbs 27:1
Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.

Well, I don’t see it getting any clearer than that. We don’t know what tomorrow holds, so don’t boast about it. We don’t even know what the next hour holds let alone the next day. This actually reminds me of what James says.

James 4:13-16
Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil.

But why is it evil? It’s because it’s prideful. It’s declaring things as fact when that person doesn’t know what the facts are. Pride will always prove to be a downfall in ones life if it’s not kept in check.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
