The Fewer the Better – Ecclesiastes 6-11
Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.
The more the words, the less the meaning, and how does that profit anyone?
What a great verse. It reminds me of a phrase I once heard when I was a teenager. “Witness daily. When needed, use words.” In other words, just be quiet and live it. It reminds me of a popular verse that we’ve all read.
You see, the question is, are you following Him? Are your eyes on Him? It shouldn’t matter what anyone else is doing or saying. What matters is if you are following Him. I find it interesting how Yeshua had to remind Peter to follow Him even after the resurrection and not be concerned with John.
“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Listen to the last verse again. “In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
Notice it didn’t say “So they may hear you talk” or “So the may hear you preach.” No. It said, “So they may see your good deeds.”
The more the words, the less the meaning, and how does that profit anyone?
Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
