Sharing – James 1:21

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

James 1:21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

“Get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent.” What I’m about to say may offend some people. Please know that is not my intention. My prayer is that you will consider what is being said. We live in a fallen world. And it’s only getting worse. My question is “Why share the obvious?”

You see, I once saw a believer sharing a video about demonic possession growing today. I refused to watch it. I didn’t want that in my house. That same day I saw another believer share an image of a popular young singer in clothing that was beyond vulgar. In fact, I’m thankful my children weren’t standing at my computer when I saw it.

My first and only thought was “Why are they sharing these?” We’re believers. We should have nothing to do with the deeds of the world. So please, reread our verse and think twice before sharing the obvious sins of the world. It’s one thing to expose what’s done in secret, but why share what’s already in the open?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
