Psalm 90:4 – Perspective (August 2)
Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Tuesday. August 2nd. The 3rd day of the Hebraic week.
Our verse today is Psalm 90:4.
For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.
This is where Peter gets his reference for when he says in 2 Peter 3:8…
Not long ago our family was setting at the table eating tacos. It was Taco Tuesday. (which we love by the way) Out of the clear blue my 8 year old son says. “Man! Just think of it. A thousand years is a day to YHWH. That would take forever to get to Taco Tuesday!”
The funny thing is, in the eyes of YHWH, “Taco Tuesday” is hardly even a day away from Monday. YHWH is not confined to the realm of time like we are. I know that’s hard to imagine. It is for me anyway. But may we never forget, in view of eternity, the life we live is not worth losing out with YHWH. Why lose the eternal for the temporal. It’s all about perspective.
Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
