Pride – Proverbs 13:10

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Proverbs 13:10
Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.

Pride. It’s a dangerous element in ones life. It’s deceptive. It leads one to believe that they are above others. Even though they may say they are not beyond error and can be wrong, many times they still carry an attitude that can be seen by others around them.

Do you have pride in your life? How would you know? According to this verse, pride breeds quarrels. So do you feel the need to argue your beliefs? To try and prove your position right over others? We’re not talking about all the time. Pride doesn’t have to be a 24/7. It can apply itself to only one area of your life just the same. A topic that you hold to passionately. Are you able to agree to disagree on the topic? Even if you do, what’s your attitude when walking away from that conversation?

The verse says wisdom is found in those who take advice. Taking advice doesn’t mean you are going to follow that advice. It simply means that you are listening to another viewpoint. You don’t have to agree with that view point. However, wisdom is found in those who at least lets others speak their understanding of a topic without cutting them down.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout today. Until next time, Shalom
