Nothing to do with Evil – Psalm 37:8,9

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Psalm 37:8
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret — it leads only to evil. 9 For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in YHWH will inherit the land.

YOnce again we see a verse that tells us to avoid inflicting our wrath. This is a topic that many truly don’t like to discuss. It requires us to let things go. When we don’t let things go, we allow those things to hold on to us like a ball and chain. Those things only weigh us down and hamper our growth in YHWH.

We are then told not to fret. The Hebrew word here can actually be interpreted as “burn.” Meaning not to burn in anger. That makes just as much sense when we consider the words immediately after to say “ it leads only to evil.”

Verse 9 then tells us that evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in YHWH will inherit the land.”

The bottom line is that we should want nothing to do with evil.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
