No Grey – John 3:19-21

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

John 3:19-21
This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.

Many of us have read these verses and so quickly assume the people here who loved darkness and whose ways were evil are the people of the nations. However, all indications show Yeshua’s adult life consisted of only being in the land of Judea. That changes everything.

So, Yeshua may actually not be talking about the nations of the world at all but rather the nation of Israel. For some reason, it’s hard for us to imagine thinking of Israel in the condition of loving darkness because of “evil deeds” in this time of history. Yet, in the eyes of YHWH, we are either walking in light or walking in darkness. So what are you walking in today?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
