I Lift up my Eyes – Psalms 123:1

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Psalms 123:1
I lift up my eyes to you, to you whose throne is in heaven.

Who do you look to? Silly question right? But is it really? Do you look to YHWH for everything? I mean everything. It’s so easy to look to something or someone else for our needs in life. We’ve all been there.

Now your probably saying “Steve, what are you talking about? I don’t look to anyone but YHWH.” While I truly hope that’s the case for you, I can only speak for me I guess in this. For example, if I get a headache, many times the first thing that comes to mind is “Oh man, I need some ibuprofen.” So is ibuprofen wrong? Well, I guess that depends on who you talk to. But the more significant point that I want to bring out here is who we first turn to when we need help.

What if everything was taken away from us all at once? Would your faith be strong enough to make it through? Would you look to Him or would you grope your way through in despair?

Psalm 123:1
I lift up my eyes to you, to you whose throne is in heaven.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
