John 13:35 – His Disciples pt. 1 (May 23)

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Monday. May 23rd. The 2nd day of the Hebraic week.

Our verse today is John 13:35.

John 13:35
By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

Well, there you have it. It doesn’t get any simpler than that. People won’t know you are one of His disciples because you can quote verses. People won’t know you are one of His disciples because you pursue the Torah. People won’t know you are one of His disciples because you can answer hard Biblical questions.

Though all of those are great and truly have value in pursuing after YHWH, the true test of a follower of Yeshua is one who loves his neighbor. So… do you love your neighbor? What if they believe something a little different than you that isn’t a salvational topic? Are you going to love them? Or talk about them?

If it’s not a salvational issue, what’s the point? Even if it’s something that you believe is so basic to the scriptures, if they differ with you, are you going to talk about them to others? Are you going to defame their name because they don’t agree with you? Or are you going to love them regardless of their view?

Now the question is “What is love?”

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
