June 6 – You might be Teacher if… (James 3:1)

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Monday. June 6th. The 2nd day of the Hebraic week.

Our verse today is James 3:1.

James 3:1
Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

Teachers will be judged more strictly. Wow! So do you consider yourself a teacher? You might quickly say “No.” But, think about it for second. One who walks around trying to tell others what they know, is one who is trying to teach others. Making them a teacher.

Whether you have an audience of one or a thousand and one, you can be playing the role of a teacher. You don’t have to have a congregation. You don’t have to have a pulpit. You don’t have to have a class room. You don’t have to have a web site. All you need is listeners.

If you find yourself stepping up to the plate, if you will, in Bible studies more often than not, you might be a teacher. If people come to you with questions, you might be teacher. If you get just as excited about sharing information as you do about learning it, you might be teacher. If you get excited about making powerpoint presentations, you might be teacher.

Whatever you do, don’t forget that teachers will be judged more strictly.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!

Comfort Zone

As the saying goes, ships are safe in the harbor, but that’s not what ships are made for. Likewise, it’s nice to have a comfort zone but we can’t dwell in them 24/7. If we hope to grow any at all, we have to step out of our comfort zone and learn to grow in our...
