James 2:24 – Made Complete (July 31)
Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Sunday. July 31st. The 1st day of the Hebraic week.
Our verse today is James 2:24.
You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.
Well, here’s a verse that goes against much of what all of us have been taught. Letting us know that faith alone is not enough. That’s right. Faith is good. And needed. Yet, one who truly has faith is one who who walks that faith out in action. Let’s read the previous verses to set the context straight.
You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that – and shudder. 20 You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? 21 Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend.
His faith was made complete by what he did. Is your faith being made complete?
Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
