History Repeats – Jeremiah 6:16-17

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Jeremiah 6:16-17
This is what YHWH says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ I appointed watchmen over you and said, ‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ But you said, ‘We will not listen.'”

We’ve all heard how history repeats. And the days that we are living in seems like they are indeed a repeat of times past. A time when prophets are calling to YHWH’s people to come back to His ways. To walk in the righteous path of YHWH. A time when YHWH’s people are saying “We will not walk in it.”

What concerns me about this is how so many are blind to the judgement that soon follows the time of the prophets. The prophets can only say so much. A time will come when the voices of the prophets will be longed for again, but will not be heard. In fact, all that will be heard are the cries of the people who ignored those prophets. Where do you stand in this light of history repeating itself?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
