Fitting – Psalms 147:1

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Psalms 147:1
Praise YHWH. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!

Now, I don’t know about you, but I don’t need a big band to sing praises. Oh, it’s nice to have one, but it’s not needed. It says here in our verse that it’s “fitting” for us to praise Him. It should come naturally right out of our mouths. No coercing. No twisting of the arms or begging.

But what about praising Him in the hard times? You might be saying “Steve, we don’t praise YHWH FOR our hard times.” Well, maybe not. However, we should praise Him in spite of our hard times. Good times or bad, He’s still on the throne. He’s still worthy of our praise regardless of what happens in our life. It’s for that very reason Praise should always be on our lips.

Trust me, I know that there are times when we don’t feel like praising. But it is in those times that we need offer up the sacrifice of praise.

Hebrews 13:15
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise – the fruit of lips that confess his name.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
