Disqualified – 1 Corinthians 9:26-27

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

1 Corinthians 9:26-27
Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

Here we see Paul discussing his attitude and aim in life. I love how Paul says he makes his body his slave. Meaning, he doesn’t submit to the desires of the flesh but rather makes his body submit to his desire in following the Spirit.

Paul knew that just because he preached the good news, because he traveled all over for the cause, because he suffered for the name, it didn’t guarantee him a place in the kingdom.

Just because you are doing a lot of good “things” for the Kingdom, even preaching the good news, it doesn’t mean you can’t be disqualified by other elements that may be in your life.

Do you submit to the flesh? Or do you make it submit to you? Your answer may reveal if you are on course to be disqualified or not.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
