Desperation – Psalm 63:1

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Psalm 63:1
O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

What can your desire for YHWH be compared to? Can it be equated to thirsting for water in a dry land? It’s one thing to be thirsty. You just go get a drink, right? However, what if there is nothing to drink? What then? You may be OK for a while. However, eventually you will do whatever it takes to find something to drink. You’ll search until you find something.

That is how we should be for YHWH. To be so desperate for Him that we will do whatever it takes to find Him. Not just one day out of the week but everyday of our life. Yet, that only happens when we make Him a priority. That only happens when we realize He really is that important to us. Until we realize how great our need for him is, we may never get to that point of desperation.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
