Delight – Romans 7:21-23

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Romans 7:21
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23 but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members.

Interesting isn’t it? He said “For in my inner being I delight in God’s law”. Yet, he confesses that he struggles in trying not to become a prisoner to the law of sin? Well, what law is that? In Deuteronomy 11:26-28 YHWH said He was setting before us a blessing and a curse. A blessing if we obey his law and a curse if we disobey the law.

So the curse of the law came from disobeying the law. Yeshua sets us free from the curse of the law as Paul said in the next verse.

24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? 25 Thanks be to God — through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Don’t walk in the curse anymore. Take delight in God’s law.
