Acknowledging Him – Matthew 10:32,33

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Matthew 10:32,33
“Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.

Wow. Those are some pretty straightforward words. So let’s jump right to it. Are you disowning Yeshua? Of course, the immediate response for most is “Of course not!” Yet, the previous verses are discussing persecution of believers. You see, it’s easy to acknowledge Him when it’s fashionable to do so. But what happens when that fashion fades? What happens when the country you live in removes that religious freedom? That’s when the test truly comes.

If you were forced to renounce Yeshua today at gunpoint, how would you do? Let’s take it a step farther. What if you were forced to renounce Yeshua today at the threat of a loved one suffering? Now it gets a little harder, doesn’t it? 30 years ago this would have seemed crazy to imagine as possible. Yet, with the world that we live in today, it’s really not that crazy to think as being possible. So, will you acknowledge Him?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
