Your Calling – 1 Peter 2:21

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

1 Peter 2:21
To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example,
that you should follow in his steps.

Whoa. Wait. What? Did you catch that? It said, “Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example.” An example? That’s right, an example. That example is to stand up under the suffering of persecution.

The first part of the verse says “To this you were called.” This is a direct reference to the previous verse. That verse says…

1 Peter 2:20
20 But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. Then he says in our verse “To THIS you were called.” So we are called to suffer for doing good. How many times
have you heard this elaborated on before?

We can’t avoid it. The bottom line is that when you stand up for truth, you’re going to ruffle someone’s feathers. You’re going to step on someone’s toes. Everybody wants to know what their calling in life is. Well, now you know it. To follow Yeshua’s example in suffering for good. “To this, you were called.”

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
