A Haughty Spirit – Proverbs 16:18

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Proverbs 16:18
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

In Numbers 16 we read about Korah’s rebellion. He was a Levite who thought too highly of himself and was basically jealous of Aaron. He wanted to be a priest like Aaron and his sons. His pride and arrogance brought judgement not only on himself but his whole family as well.

Pride has it’s repercussions and it will indeed effect ALL that encompasses your life. Korah was the head of the household. Therefore, judgement was all inclusive to what belonged to him.

Remember, pride includes the essence of looking down and even ridiculing others to ultimately make you look or feel better about yourself. In essence, being haughty. Do you mock others for what they believe? Even if they are wrong, what gives you the right to mock a servant of YHWH? Do you walk in humility or arrogance before Him?

Micah 6:8
He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does YHWH require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout today. Until next time, Shalom.
