The Wrong Side of the Tracks – John 1:46-50

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

John 1:46-50
“Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip. When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, “Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is nothing false.” “How do you know me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.” Then Nathanael declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.” Jesus said, “You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You shall see greater things than that.”

I think it’s safe to say Nathanael did indeed see greater things. Yet, here’s the issue. He saw those greater things through an individual, Yeshua, that he most likely would have discredited simply because of where He came from.

Two lessons to be learned here. 1) Don’t miss out on what YHWH can do through someone because of where they came from. 2) Don’t miss out on what YHWH can do through you because of where you came from.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
