1 Peter 1:17 – Strangers (July 9)

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Saturday. July 9th. The 7th day of the Hebraic week. And everybody says “HalleluYah”.

Our verse today is 1 Peter 1:17.

1 Peter 1:17
Since you call on a Father who judges each man’s work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear.

Did you notice the reason why we should live our lives as strangers in reverent fear? It’s because YHWH will judge each man’s work impartially. He will look at each and everyone of us the same when it comes to our judgement. Do you live your life with that thought in mind?

Some could say “Oh Steve, that would be living your life in fear.” No, that’s living your life in reverence for the maker of the Universe. Trying to keep ourselves in alignment with His ways as we walk through this world.

That’s truly what separates a true believer from anyone else in the world. A true believer is one who seeks after the ways of the Father. Who chooses to set the ways of the world to the side and choose to walk in the ways of YHWH. To live their lives as strangers in this world and not as buddies to this world.

So the question for all of us is “Are we living our lives here as strangers in reverent fear?”

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
