Workers & Builders – Matthew 7:24-25

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Matthew 7:24-25
Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

Everyone who claims the faith today believes they are doing just that. Putting His words into practice. But did you notice our verse starts out with a conjunction word. Meaning, the following words are a thought connected as a result of the previous words. Meaning, “consequently” or “for that reason”. So what did the previous verse say?

23 Then I will tell them plainly, “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!”

The Greek for the word “evildoers” is actually a phrase. It’s “ergazomenoi ten anomian.” It actually means “workers of lawlessness.” So if it’s the workers of lawlessness that are cast away from Him, then it’s the workers of the law who are brought to Him. Thus, His words in our text.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
