Prophets – Numbers 11:29

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Numbers 11:29
But Moses replied, “Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all YHWH’s people were prophets and that YHWH would put his Spirit on them!”

Well, this is a verse you don’t hear preached on everyday. Moses said that he wished all of YHWH’s people were prophets. Wow. Think about that for a second. What would it be like if all of YHWH’s people were prophets? The prophets were extremely zealous for the Word of YHWH. The prophets were the ones who called YHWH’s people back to obedience. Thus, if all of YHWH’s people were prophets, they would all be zealous of the Word and would be walking in obedience. There is much more that could be said about prophets. However, I think it’s interesting to note that we rarely, if ever, hear this verse expounded on.

In light of this verse, are you zealous for the Word of YHWH? Do you call out for people to come back to pursuing the ways of YHWH? Maybe it’s time we consider this verse with a little more thought.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
