Matthew 5:6 – Hunger & Thirst (April 24)

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Sunday. April 24th. The 1st day of the Hebraic week.

Our verse today is Matthew 5:6.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

What is it that you desire? What is it that just consumes your mind? There are so many things in this world that distract us. Yet we are told here by Yeshua that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled. Think about that for a minute. What does it mean to hunger and thirst for righteousness?

We’ve all been hungry for food at one time or another. However, how long have you gone without food? How long have you gone without water? I can promise you, one who has gone without food or water long enough, they are a different person. They’re only desire is to fill that need.

One who is truly hungry and thirsty for righteousness will do whatever it takes to fill that desire in their life. They will cast off everything the world has to offer just to get the righteousness of the Word.

So, do you hunger and thirst for righteousness? How does your desires for righteousness compare to your desires of this world?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
