Just Pray – Exodus 17:1-3

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Exodus 17:1-3
The whole Israelite community set out from the Desert of Sin, traveling from place to place as YHWH commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink. So they quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water to drink.” Moses replied, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put YHWH to the test?” But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?”

First, we need to take note the Israelites went where YHWH told them. Then we see YHWH took them to a place where there was no water. Please remember that. He took them to a place where there was no water. We all know they needed water to survive. Yet, here’s the thing. YHWH heard their cries in prayer when they were oppressed in Egypt. So why couldn’t they pray now? Why grumble and complain?

YHWH knows your needs. Are you praying or grumbling?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
