If I Perish – Esther 4:15,16

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Esther 4:15,16
Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maids will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”

If there is anything that I believe we can learn from this verse, it’s the willingness for the ultimate sacrifice in doing what is right. It wasn’t in wanting to be seen. It wasn’t in wanting to be remembered. It was in wanting to do what is right no matter what it was going to cost.

What is your motive in life? Is it to do what is right or to be seen doing what is right? Is it to do what is right no matter what or is to be congratulated for doing what is right?

Regardless of our personal outcome, our focus is to make sure that we stay faithful to him. We are to make sure that everyone sees Him in us. If that means we are to perish, then we perish.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
