Choose Wisely – Deuteronomy 28:63

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Deuteronomy 28:63
Just as it pleased YHWH to make you prosper and increase in number, so it will please him to ruin and destroy you. You will be uprooted from the land you are entering to possess.

Well, this is a verse I have yet to hear anyone preach on. Why? Because no one likes to think of YHWH in this light. We like to think of YHWH as kind and loving. Even when we think about Him reprimanding in righteousness, we like to think that He does so in hesitancy. Being reluctant or unwilling. And as a whole, He is.

We know that YHWH takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. This is why we see such harsh reprimand.

Though we know He is patient and not wanting any to perish, once our decision is solidified and final we are then inadvertently declaring ourselves as His enemies. The second that happens, our text comes into play. He will take pleasure in destroying you just as he does His enemies. Is that where you want to be? Choose wisely.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
