Ashamed? – Hebrews 11:16

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Hebrews 11:16
Instead, they were longing for a better country – a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.

Are you longing for a better country? The heavenly one? Is that your deep desire? Is that what makes you get out of bed everyday? Knowing that one day you get to be a part of that heavenly country? Or are your eyes only on this world and what it has to offer? Do you find yourself focusing more on the pleasures of this life than the one He is preparing for us?

Our verse says that YHWH is not ashamed to be called the God of those who are longing for that heavenly country. So how does YHWH look down to you? Does He see you longing for His country? Would He be ashamed of you at this moment? If so, what can you do to change that today? What actions do you need to take to make YHWH not be ashamed of you?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
