Believing is Doing – James 2:18-19

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

James 2:18
But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that – and shudder.

Saying you believe is meaningless if you’re not following through with action. You can put all the bumper stickers you want on your car that promote walking in the truth. Yet, if you aren’t walking in it yourself, what kind of witness are you? The old saying “Talk is cheap” has a point. You can talk the faith all you want, but until the rubber hits the road, you’re just talking.

It’s like a dog that only barks but is too scared to bite. It’s like dark clouds with thunder and lightning but produces no rain. It’s like a really nice car but has no engine. All of these may have the appearance for their purpose, but without the ability to do what they are intended for, they are nothing. The same applies to us as believers. Believing is doing.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
