300 – Judges 7:7

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Judges 7:7
YHWH said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the other men go, each to his own place.”

Now, to set the picture here, remember, Gideon started off with around 32,000 men. Verse 2 says.

2 YHWH said to Gideon, “You have too many men for me to deliver Midian into their hands. In order that Israel may not boast against me that her own strength has saved her, 3 announce now to the people, ‘Anyone who trembles with fear may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.'”

So twenty-two thousand men left, while ten thousand remained.

And then in verse 7 we see they are down to 300 men. Just 300. These 300 men faced a combined army that numbered at least 120,000 men according to chapter 8 verse 10. That alone averages 400 to 1. Each man would have had to defeat at least 400 men. So when the odds may not look in your favor, don’t forget whose in charge.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
