Out of No Where – Genesis 37:15-17

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Genesis 37:15
A man found him wandering around in the fields and asked him, “What are you looking for?” 16 He replied, “I’m looking for my brothers. Can you tell me where they are grazing their flocks?” 17 “They have moved on from here,” the man answered. “I heard them say, ‘Let’s go to Dothan.'” So Joseph went after his brothers and found them near Dothan.

Jacob just told Joseph to go check on his brothers. Then suddenly we see these verses out of no where. Think about it. This part of the story could have been completely removed and we wouldn’t think a thing of it. Yet, here we see a man with no name just appear and finds Joseph wandering around. He then points Joesph to his brothers. His jealous brothers. How jealous were they? Compare verse 18.

18 But they saw him in the distance, and before he reached them, they plotted to kill him.

What’s my point here? YHWH has his ways of directing us where we need to go. Even if it’s to people who mean to harm us.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
