Every Tear – Revelation 21:4

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
This is a popular verse for many. But why? Because it means that YHWH will comfort His people. From that moment on, there will no longer be any reason for crying again. But why do we have tears in our eyes at this time for Him to wipe away?
I’ve once heard we are crying at this time because of all of our family and friends who didn’t make it into the kingdom. I admit, this is very much a possibility. However, could our tears be from the fact that we know we didn’t do a good enough job at reaching out to our family and friends? Will that moment flood our minds with every missed opportunity of sharing? Will that moment flood our minds with all of our selfish motivations in wanting to be right in arguments instead of helping others see? Why will you be crying that day?
