Interests of Others – Philippians 2:19-21

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Philippians 2:19
I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I receive news about you. 20 I have no one else like him, who takes a genuine interest in your welfare. 21 For everyone looks out for his own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.
“For everyone looks out for his own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.”

I believe most all would agree that this verse is talking about looking out for your own interests only. The context here is talking about Timothy and how he had proven himself in looking out for the interest of others. So now we have to ask ourselves “Do we only look out for our own interests?” How do we live our lives in considering the interests or benefits of others?

What sacrifices do you make for others? Maybe this is something we need to be more mindful of in our day to day living. To see where we can be a blessing to other believers in the midst of our own situations.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
