The Honeycomb Song – Psalm 19:7-11

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Psalm 19:7-11
The law of YHWH is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of YHWH are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
The precepts of YHWH are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of YHWH are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
The fear of YHWH is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of YHWH are sure and altogether righteous.
They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.
By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.

I remember when I was a young teenager we used to sing a song that was a literal quote from these very verses. We could never remember the name of the song. So we always called it the “Honeycomb song.” Referring to verse 10.

How we could sing these words and never once ponder exactly what David was writing about still baffles me. Yet, so many today read verses just like these and still don’t understand. Just remember, there was a time when we didn’t either.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
