Context – Philippians 4:13

Philippians 4:13
I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

I don’t know about you but I have heard this verse all my life. I’ve heard it mentioned in so many sermons in how we can do anything through Yeshua. The funny thing is I’ve never heard it preached on from the context it is given in. Let’s read the previous for that context.

12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

So, verse 13 is all about being able to be content with much or with little. It’s all about being able to be content when well fed or being hungry. So, can you do this? Can you quote this verse now with the proper context that it was written in?

“I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” Does it mean something different to you now? In my opinion, it means a whole lot more.
