Relationship – Matthew 7:21-23

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Matthew 7:21
Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?” 23 Then I will tell them plainly, “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!”

If there is any set of verses that should scare believers, I believe it would have to be these. Think about it. These people that Yeshua is referring to considered themselves believers. They did many things in His name. Big things. Yet, they are still told to depart in the end. Ugh.

If there is anything that I believe we should take away from these verses it’s the words “I never knew you”. All I can tell you is that these words are shouting to me that He desires a relationship with us. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do. The question is “Will He know you?”

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
