Good Teacher – Matthew 23:2-3

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Matthew 23:2
The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.

Well, here’s a verse you don’t hear preached on Sunday mornings. Yet, these are the words of our savior. Straight from Him. We are to hear and obey the words of Moses. This is a difficult topic for many simply because it goes against what we have been brought up to believe by people we have greatly respected.

But what do we do with this verse? Just act like it doesn’t exist? We know that Yeshua kept the law perfectly. Otherwise he would not have been our spotless Passover Lamb. So did Yeshua come to do away with the Law or live it for our example?

Is that not what a good teacher does? Give an example of how to do something before telling the student to do the same? Our savior taught us to obey Moses. So, are you?

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
