Psalm 37:5, 6 – Commitment (August 27)

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Saturday. August 27th. The seventh day of the Hebraic week. And every body says “HalleluYah”

Our verses today are Psalm 37:5, 6.

Psalm 37:5
Commit your way to YHWH; trust in him and he will do this: 6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

Commit your way to YHWH. While we all like to think that is a one time event, it’s actually something we have to do every day. Every morning when we wake up we have to choose to commit to Him. “Commit” is a powerful word. It means no turning back. Like a boulder pushed at the top of a hill. Once it’s rolling down, there’s no stopping it. Is that how you see your commitment? No stopping?

It then says “He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.” It doesn’t say when this will happen. However, it does say it will happen. It can happen at the least expected moment. It may happen tomorrow. Next week. Next year. We don’t know. At the very least, it will happen at His return. Regardless of when it happens, we need to stay focused on our commitment.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
