March 25

Hello and thanks for joining in on to today’s daily devotion. Today is Friday. March 25th. The 6th day of the Hebraic week.

Our verse today is Judges 16:20.

Judges 16:20
Then she called, “Samson, the Philistines are upon you!” He awoke from his sleep and thought, “I’ll go out as before and shake myself free.” But he did not know that YHWH had left him.

The all familiar and yet sad story of Samson and Delilah. It is this verse of the story that I truly believe is the saddest part of this story. Why? Because he didn’t know that YHWH had left him. He got up thinking nothing was different. Thinking all was well. Ready to face his day like all the others. Yet, YHWH was no longer there.

How many people are walking around today not knowing that YHWH has left them. How many people has this world lulled to sleep and they don’t realize that the Spirit has left them? Waking up every morning thinking all is fine, all the while nothing could be further from the truth. All because of flirting with sin.

It’s easy for us to look at Samson and say “Man. You think he would have learned his lesson from the first couple of times she did this to him.” Yet, are we really any different? Can we really judge Samson knowing our failures in life?

We need to read these events like this one to be reminders to us that we are no different. And that we need to step it up or we may end put just like Samson.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until tomorrow, shalom!
