4 Things – 1 Thessalonians 5:14

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

1 Thessalonians 5:14
And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

OK, this is such a short verse that it’s easy to just let it go in one ear and out the other before it even registers in the brain. Let’s read it one more time.

1 Thessalonians 5:14
And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

So we see four things to work on. First, we are to warn those who are idle. Warn them. Not condemn them.

Next, we are to encourage the timid. We are to encourage them to be strong and see their potential in the midst of their fears

Next, we are to help the weak. That means to, well, help the weak. To not cut them down or make fun of them but to help them. That takes effort and energy.

Lastly, but definitely not least, we are to be patient with everyone. To be patient with everyone.
Let that sink. To be patient.

So, warn, encourage, help and be patient.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
