Hate Evil – Psalms 97:10

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Psalms 97:10
Let those who love YHWH hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

This starts off with encouraging those who love YHWH to hate evil. What is your attitude towards evil? Do you hate it? Do you just dislike it? Do you tolerate it? This verse tells us to hate it. Those are some pretty strong words.

It then says that He guards the the lives of His faithful ones. Can we be faithful and not hate evil? Can we stay true to Him if we are tolerant of evil? Can we truly expect to be delivered from the hand of the wicked, who do evil, if we don’t hate the evil they do? Yet, if we make a clear line in the sand of our stance on evil, there will be no confusion in the eyes of anyone on where we stand.

If we truly want YHWH to guard our lives and deliver us from the wicked, then let us hate evil. Let us run from it. Let us run to YHWH with all our might and cling to the ways He has given us walk.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
