Common Sense vs. Obedience – Acts 9:13-14

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Acts 9:13-14
“Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your saints in Jerusalem. And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.”

The Lord had just told Ananias to go to the man from Tarsus named Saul. However, this wasn’t just any ordinary man. This was the man who was doing all he could to crush the believers in Yeshua.

Think of it this way, this almost like telling a Jew to go reach out to Hitler while he was in the middle of persecuting them. This was no easy task for Ananias. You can easily understand why he was hesitant. Common sense would say “That’s just crazy!” Yet, YHWH is not calling us to be common. He’s calling us to obey. And that is what Ananias did.

What is YHWH calling you to do that common sense has kept you from all this time? Ananias’ obedience resulted in 2/3 of the New Testament being written. Just imagine what your obedience can result in.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
