Step it Up – Judges 16:20

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Judges 16:20
Then she called, “Samson, the Philistines are upon you!” He awoke from his sleep and thought, “I’ll go out as before and shake myself free.” But he did not know that YHWH had left him.

I believe this verse is the saddest part of this story. Why? Because he didn’t know YHWH had left him. He got up thinking nothing was different. Thinking all was well. Ready to face his day like all the others. Yet, YHWH was no longer there.

How many people are walking around today not knowing YHWH has left them? How many people has this world lulled to sleep and they don’t realize that the Spirit has left them? Waking up every morning thinking all is fine, all the while nothing could be further from the truth. All because of flirting with sin.

It’s easy to look at Samson and say “Man. You think he would have learned his lesson from the first couple of times she did this to him.” Yet, are we really any different? Can we really judge Samson knowing our failures in life? We need to step it up or we may end put just like Samson.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
