Daily Bread – Matthew 6:11

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Matthew 6:11
Give us today our daily bread.

Not much to it. Right? But boy it speak volumes. In a world that shouts at that top of it’s longs we “need” this and we “need” that, Yeshua implies we are to focus on our daily needs.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the desires the world has to offer. It’s so easy to get caught up in thinking that we need this for security or we need that for stability. Don’t get me wrong, everybody wants to have financial peace of mind for their future. Everybody wants to do their best in taking care of their future and even leaving something for their children. The book of proverbs even discusses that.

Yet, we can’t let these concerns consume us to the point that we miss out on what He is wanting us to do today. Planning for our future is truly using wisdom. Yet, when we plan for our future at the cost of hearing for today, what do we really gain?

What if tomorrow doesn’t come? What then? Everything you planned for comes to nothing. While being mindful of the future, don’t let tomorrow steal what He has for you today.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
