Growth is from Him – 1 Corinthians 3:6-8

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

1 Corinthians 3:6-8
I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor.

These are the words of Paul actually reprimanding the believers in Corinth. Evidently many were divided in saying what minister they followed. When the fact is, we are to follow YHWH only. Men and ministries come and go. Methods of delivery will vary. Yet, it’s the message of the Word that we are to hold on to.

Men are just that… men. They are mere tools and instruments. When a mechanic fixes your car you don’t say “Wow. I love your socket set.” When a guitarist gets done playing a solo, you don’t say “Wow. That guitar is awesome.” Though the socket set and guitar may very well be nice, we know that they can do nothing on their own.

Don’t set your affections on a minister or ministry. We are all mere men. Seek YHWH.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
