More Concerned? – Proverbs 7:6-10

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Proverbs 7:6-10
At the window of my house I looked out through the lattice. I saw among the simple, I noticed among the young men, a youth who lacked judgment. He was going down the street near her corner, walking along in the direction of her house at twilight, as the day was fading, as the dark of night set in. Then out came a woman to meet him, dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent.

We can look at this and say “Wow. This guy was silly. He should of saw it coming.” Now, once we’re done pointing our index finger at this guy, we need to look at the other three pointing right back at us. Do we really think that we are exempt from this?

Look at the last time you fell to a familiar temptation. Before you fell to that temptation, you saw it coming. We always do. One choice leads to another and the next thing you know, out comes the temptation.

It’s interesting how verse 9 shows night was setting in. Meaning few, if any, could see. How many of us would give into temptation if everyone saw you give into that temptation? That tells us we’re more concerned about what people think of us than we are of what YHWH knows of us.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.
