Live at Peace – Proverbs 16:7

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Proverbs 16:7
When a man’s ways are pleasing to YHWH, he makes even his enemies live at peace with him.

I’ve heard it said that this verse is saying when we make our ways pleasing to YHWH, YHWH will in turn makes our enemies live at peace with us. While I believe this interpretation is possible, I believe there is another equally as plausible.

We know that we are obligated to make our relationships with our fellowman a priority. I believe this verse can be equally understood if it is interpreted that a man’s ways are pleasing to the Father IF he makes his enemies live at peace with him.

Again, the verse says. “When a man’s ways are pleasing to YHWH, he makes even his enemies live at peace with him.”

Otherwise, how can Paul say this in the book of Romans?

Romans 12:18
If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

The responsibility is on us to live at peace with everyone. When we do, YHWH is pleased.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout today. Until next time, Shalom
