Heart Vs. Ways – Proverbs 11:20

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Proverbs 11:20
YHWH detests men of perverse heart but he delights in those whose ways are blameless.

The word in the Hebrew for “perverse” means wicked or twisted. But notice the difference that is given to us here. The distinction that is being made is the heart of the wicked from the WAYS of the blameless. The heart vs.ways.

As we’ve noted before, everything starts in the heart. But righteousness is completed in our actions. Until we follow through in obedience, what is the difference between us and the wicked? Righteousness has to flow into our everyday life. Not just in what we believe but in what we do. This is why we see what James says just after talking about the righteousness that Abraham walked out in obedience. He said…

James 2:24
You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.

Remember, Yeshua said…

Luke 11:23
He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters.

We can say that we are “with Him” all we want, but if our actions aren’t proving it, in His eye’s, we are against Him.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout today. Until next time, Shalom
