Delayed Rebuke – Psalm 119:20-24

Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.

Psalm 119:20-24
My soul is consumed with longing for your laws at all times. You rebuke the arrogant, who are cursed and who stray from your commands. Remove from me scorn and contempt, for I keep your statutes. Though rulers sit together and slander me, your servant will meditate on your decrees. Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors.

Verse 21 says “You rebuke the arrogant, who are cursed and who stray from your commands.” Some could say, “I’m not cursed. I’m doing just fine in how I live and I don’t follow the Law of Moses.” That may be true. Yet, what many forget is that YHWH delays His punishment in hopes people will return. This is the very thing we read in the words of Paul in Romans chapter 2.

Romans 2:4
Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you toward repentance?

Just because He hasn’t rebuked you yet, doesn’t mean it’s not coming. Unless, of course, you repent and start following His ways.

Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, shalom!
